Buderim Mountain State School believes regular communication with parents creates a vital partnership and we strive to work closely with every student, their families and the community to provide an outstanding education.

Your child’s classroom teacher is your first point of contact, and we welcome the opportunity to constructively discuss any aspects of a student’s education. This includes their progress, or school procedures, including concerns or compliments. We do ask that you keep communication with teachers outside of class time to ensure children’s lessons are not impacted.

Teachers hold their own policy on the use of email as a communication tool and make their position and expectations known at the start of each year. Any email to school or teachers is to be used for official school purposes only, and we remind all parties to communicate in a way that is brief, factual, timely and respectful.

Parents and carers are asked to understand the time limitations in a teacher’s day and anticipate responses will take over 24 hours to receive a response.

Our other staff including the school Chaplain, Deputy Principals and Principal are also happy to meet with you and support your family’s needs.

There are several points during the year when we focus on providing a formal opportunity for parents to meet their children’s teachers. The dates of these meetings are advised through class and school newsletters.

Semester 1

All year levels will have a meet and greet information session early in the semester, and a yearly overview will be handed out at this time.

Years P-6 parent-teacher interviews are held at the end of term 1 and the beginning of term 3.

Reports are handed out at the start of term 3 and parents are welcome to approach class teachers if they wish to discuss their children’s progress.

Semester 2

Reports are handed out at the end of term 4 and parents are welcome to approach class teachers if they wish to discuss their children’s progress.

Parents may make an appointment for an interview by contacting the office or their class teacher.
