Our school tuckshop, the Banksia Café, is open from Monday to Friday. Our menu has a 5-star healthy rating from the Queensland Association of Tuckshops (QAST). We are committed to providing a healthy and nutritious option for lunches and snacks with everything prepared onsite. Please remember to order before the cut-off times.
Ordering
For convenience and ease of ordering, lunches can now be ordered online through the Flexischools program. For instructions on how to order through Flexischools, see the Related links menu on the right.
The full menu is available each weekday of the school term, orders need to be placed before 8:30am. In addition, Sushi is available on Wednesdays (orders due by 7:00pm on Tuesday nights), and Chefs Specials are available every Thursday and Friday (as per the Term Specials Menu). Throughout the year, the Banksia Cafe also offers Special Menus for select events and celebrations. Follow the P&C on social media for announcement of the Special Menus as they are released.
Collecting
1st and 2nd Breaks: all classes collect their lunch crate for the class just before the bell rings.
Prep to Year 1: Items will be packed into an esky and sent in the lunch crate.
Years 2 to 6: Students need to present their paper bag at the cafe (line up per year level) to collect. Cold or Frozen items will be highlighted on their bags.
Snack food menu items can be purchased over the counter during eating time. Slushies can be purchased after sit down eating time both first and second breaks.
Banksia Café volunteering
We welcome all volunteers in the Banksia Café whether it's an hour at drop off or pick up time you can spare or all day. We will gratefully accept all help.
Volunteering is easy and you don't need any experience. It's a great way to meet other families. Sign up is via the following link: https://bit.ly/bmssvolunteers or via QR code on the volunteer signs around the school.
If volunteering time doesn't fit for you, you can still support the Banksia Café by donating the following items: wholemeal self-raising flour, brown sugar, rolled oats, desiccated coconut, honey, pitted dates, spiral pasta, tomato paste and plain rice crackers.
Forgotten or lost lunch/money
Should a child forget or lose their lunch, they are to report to the office where parents will be contacted. Arrangements will then be made.
